Departing Broome in your fixed wing aircraft tracks east over the beautiful turquoise waters of Roebuck Bay. Overfly the mighty Fitzroy River, the Fitzroy Crossing township and the stunning Geikie Gorge. Enjoy morning tea and refreshments at Halls Creek.
Fly the scenic pattern around the Bungle Bungle Massif, before landing at the remote Bellburn airstrip.
On arrival at Purnululu National Park, you will be met by your local Gija tour guide from Kingfisher Tours, who will welcome you to country. Travel in an air-conditioned 4WD bus to the northern massif where you will stop at the mini palms for morning tea, fresh damper, tea, and coffee, and locally made jams. You will then walk around to the Echidna Chasm lookout to hear the Dreamtime stories of the cheeky echidna, then on to the chasm that glows orange and gold as the morning sun bursts through.
Enjoy a moderate 3km guided walk amongst the famous eroded towers and black and orange banded beehive structures on the domes walk.
Enjoy a local bush tucker loop and a walk into the awe-inspiring Cathedral Gorge and then the lookout for some of the best views of the park. A light pack is provided with your drinks and lunch to be enjoyed in Cathedral Gorge, whilst your Gija guide sings the ancient songs of her Country.
After a long day touring, enjoy the afternoon having sunset drinks up at the Massif lookout as our guides tell you the stories of their Country.
Head to the award-winning Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge to relax amid the tranquil surrounds before a three-course dinner.
On day two you will experience the beauty of Cathedral Gorge. Enjoy learning about bush tucker and listening to the ancient song lines as you walk into the magnificent Cathedral Gorge, enjoy your picnic lunch, before departing for the lookout. Have a chilled and well-deserved drink before your departure back to Broome.
Refreshments are served at the airstrip before your return flight to Broome. Your flight home takes you over the spectacular Wunaamin Miliwundi (King Leopold) Ranges, Devonian Reef Conservation Park and Windjana Gorge.

Planning for your trip:
*A reasonable level of fitness and sturdy footwear is required. There are areas of uneven ground as well as walking on sand in Cathedral Gorge and Echidna Chasm. Alcoholic beverages are not included in the tour package however can be purchased separately at the on-site restaurant and bar. A selection of non-alcoholic beverages will be available at meal times. Whilst we provide water throughout the tour, we do recommend bringing your own water bottle to ensure you are kept well hydrated in the extreme Kimberley heat.
Walks in the Northern massif (ranges)
Echidna Chasm Walk: 2km return walk, allow up to one hour. Experience a spectacular 200-metre chasm with varying colour hues. A short walk off the main trail takes you to a lookout with magnificent views of the Osmand Range.
Mini Palms Walk: 5km return walk takes you to a scenic amphitheatre with many young palms. Allow two to three hours. Bloodwoods was named Froghole and Mini Palms to Bloodwood until September 2012.
Walks in the Southern massif (ranges)
Cathedral Gorge Walk: Moderate 3km, 1-2 hour return walk from the Piccaninny Creek car park to a spectacular gorge. Mostly easy with some short difficult sections.
Piccaninny Creek Lookout: You can walk to this lookout which is 2.8km return from the Piccaninny Creek car park to gain great views of the Bungle Bungle Range outliers as the Piccaninny Creek winds its way down to the Ord River.
The Domes Walk: 1km, 1 hour circuit walk among the famous ‘beehive’ domes
