Geelong

Geelong is Victoria's second largest city just south west of Melbourne and is the gateway to the famous Great Ocean Road, which begins just south of Geelong at Torquay. Best known for its Waterfront esplanade that lines the bay. The Esplanade features a 19th-century carousel, plus a curved art deco boardwalk and sea bath at Eastern Beach. Geelong also has a large collection of public art. Scattered throughout the city are the brightly coloured Bollards who highlight historic events and people who shaped the city.

The city also offers picturesque coastal walks, Botanic Gardens at Eastern Park and the Barwon River meanders through Geelong and its surrounding suburbs before reaching Bass Strait. The city's cultural precinct includes Geelong Gallery, the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre and the Geelong Performing Arts Centre. And of course Geelong is home to the Geelong Football Club. Geelong is part of the traditional lands of the Wathaurung people and Aboriginal culture and community is strong and vibrant in Geelong. There are several Aboriginal cultural centres, co-ops and art galleries.
