Dreamtime Snorkel is a unique Great Barrier Reef day tour cruise experience, incorporating the world’s oldest living culture and some of Australia’s most amazing marine life. Traditional owners have passed down their Dreamtime stories over tens of thousands of years and now we bring them to you. Indigenous Sea Rangers share stories on Gunggandji sea country including the reef creation story as well as song, dance and music. On this day tour you will visit two spectacular Outer Great Barrier Reef sites, Milln and Flynn Reefs.

What to expect

Enjoy one of Cairns’ most unique and exclusive Great Barrier Reef tours. Dreamtime Snorkel invites you to step back into the Great Barrier Reef’s Dreamtime with Indigenous Sea Rangers on a day tour to two spectacular Outer Great Barrier Reef sites, Milln and Flynn Reefs.

Snorkelers will experience two premium outer reef sites. Enjoy a relaxing five hours to explore and gain a deeper cultural understanding of this diverse ecosystem and our Indigenous heritage.

During this day tour, you will meet the Indigenous Sea Rangers and learn about original clap sticks and fire poles. You will also experience live demonstrations of traditional dances and the didgeridoo.

Itinerary

08:15

  • Boarding commences at 8.15am with final boarding at 8.45am from Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal
  • Meet at the vessel at Marlin Marina, Cairns. There will be crew on the wharf to help guide you to your vessel
  • Board boat.
  • Grab your complimentary snorkel and flippers

09:00

  • Depart Marlin Jetty Cairns
  • Safety briefing
  • Indigenous welcome and acknowledgment
  • Great Barrier Reef creation story
  • Enjoy morning tea

10:30

  • Arrive at Outer Great Barrier Reef
  • Our in water activities commence at the Outer Great Barrier Reef where you’ll enjoy our pristine coral reef site before lunch and the next reef site after lunch.

12:30

  • Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch freshly prepared by the highly awarded and renowned Ochre Restaurant and Tropic Spirit Catering.

15:00

  • Return snorkel, flippers, life jacket and lycra suits
  • Depart the reef
  • Enjoy afternoon tea whilst interacting with the Sea Rangers on board

17:00

  • Arrive back in Cairns
