Join us for a full day tour exploring the stunning South Coast of New South Wales. The Tilba's, as they are known, are fascinating for their diverse history. Spend the morning with one of our Yuin Nation elders, enjoy an Aboriginal Dreaming storytelling session and learn about why Gulaga (Mount Dromedary) is so important to the Yuin people and their spiritual identity. In the afternoon enjoy a guided historical walking tour of central Tilba, a cheese and South Coast gin tasting at the Dromedary Hotel and wine tasting and lunch and wine tasting at the Tilba Winery and Ale House.
Begin your tour in Tilba Tilba on one of the area’s oldest farms. The farm is located at the base of Gulaga, the mother mountain, incredibly sacred to the local Yuin community. Spend the morning here with our local Yuin Nation guide and learn all about the culture and ancient stories relating to Gulaga and its importance to the spiritual identity of the Yuin people. This experience is immersive, transformational, authentic and spiritual. No trip to the Narooma and Tilba area is complete without understanding the connection to country through the telling of these stories.
Continue to Central Tilba where you will meet another one of our specialist guides for a historical walking tour of Central Tilba and learn about the mining days in the 1800s and the unique history of this National Trust Village. You will have some free time to browse in Central Tilba's exquisite boutique shops. Enjoy a cheese and South Coast gin tasting at the Dromedary Hotel. The Tilba Real Dairy is world-famous for its award-winning cheeses, milk and yoghurt. Lunch today will be at the Tilba Valley Winery where you will also enjoy a wine tasting. Return at around 4 pm.
This is a full day tour running from 9:00am – 4:00pm departing 5 days per week, Wednesday to Sunday year round.
