The Bulgandry Walk begins at Staples Lookout where you will witness an Acknowledgement of Country and hear our creation story while you take in the views of Brisbane Water and Woy Woy Bay.

Next, set out on a walk to view ancient Aboriginal rock engravings and participate in a traditional smoking ceremony. Connect to this beautiful country and learn about bush food, medicines, spirituality, totems and fire stick farming. Your guide will share stories and ancient knowledge providing insight into the oldest living culture on earth.

A journey through the land with Girri Girra is something to savour. Walk in the footsteps of Australia’s first people and feel their living connection to the 21st century. Hear timeless stories, see original rock carvings and feel the power of connecting with this beautiful country.

The Bulgandry Walk takes place in Brisbane Water National Park. During the tour your guide will share stories and ancient knowledge that provide valuable insight into Bulgandy and the surrounding area. Participants will also have the opportunity to witness a traditional Acknowledgement of Country, hear our creation story and participate in a traditional smoking ceremony.

What is included

The tour duration is 2.5 hours and the distance covered is 350m along a relatively flat surface. Participants need to be able to stand and walk for the duration of the tour.

Tim honours the ancient lore of his people and the spirits of his ancestors through art and teaching. His ancestral line comes from the Wongaibon people (Central West NSW), his Mother was born in Dubbo on Wiradjuri country and Tim was born in Gilgandra, on Wailwan country.

Few know the land upon which they grow like Tim and his people. Along with a network of experts in cultural dancing, singing, bush medicine and tucker, Girri Girra is committed to sharing this knowledge through firsthand experience, guiding people through this ancient country, its history and customs.
