Watjan On Country Tag Along Tour

Watjan Guided Tours

Joe (Dingo) Parry, Lucy Carlingung and family invite you to join them for an adventure on their Traditional Lands, west of Daly River in the Northern Territory. Watjan Tours offers customised tag-along tours on their beautiful country, including the Wadeye community, located 3-4 hours’ drive south-west of Darwin. Come and experience cultural tourism, including traditional Aboriginal ways of life, and learn fascinating local history from your friendly and knowledgeable guides. Discover the natural beauty of our lands with vast wildlife and a wide diversity of habitat, including rivers, billabongs, sprawling wetlands and seemingly endless open plains.

Insights into your experience

Watjan Tours are self-drive and self-catered. We lead and you follow.

We’re flexible on the itinerary, let us know what interests you and we can come up with a plan. Then pack your 4WD with everything you need for a BYO trip in the bush and let’s go!

We can't wait to make you feel warmly welcome on our lands. You may meet some of our family members too, sometimes we have sons or daughters with us, and quite often we have a grandchild or two, or a niece or nephew. That’s because we are a family that believes the future is with the young people. When we are showing you our culture and traditional ways, we are also preserving our history by teaching the future carers of the lands, as well as showing them how to share our heritage with others. We are looking forward to your visit.
