Enjoy an afternoon on the water with the Kaurna Ngarringjeri Yankunytjatjara Elder, Allan Sumner in Adelaide. Allan has a passionate interest in dreaming stories and is also a world-renowned artist and musician.

Allan will lead a Smoking Ceremony, Welcome to Country and provide insight into ochre body art, which you can be part of. As we journey down the Port River Allan will share the cultural history of the region and outline the significant indigenous connection to the Port Adelaide region.

Immerse your senses as you absorb didgeridoo tunes and taste Indigenous foods, including seafood and local bush tucker. Don't miss this immersive cultural experience in Port Adelaide.

This experience runs on demand and for special cultural events.

Location

1 McLaren Parade, Port Adelaide. Approximately 15km from Adelaide CBD, approximately a 25 minute drive allowing for traffic.

This 2 hour Culture Cruise is guided by Kaurna Ngarringjeri Yankunytjatjara Elder, Allan Sumner. Journey with us as we cruise down the Port River. Learn about the cultural history of the region and significant indigenous connection to the Port Adelaide region.

Enjoy tasting Indigenous foods, including seafood and local bush tucker.

We also travel through to Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary, Adelaide Bird Sanctuary and Garden Island to the Ships Graveyard. Don’t miss this immersive cultural experience in Port Adelaide.

Boarding of our vessel is from the wharf in front of the lighthouse.

Please arrive 15 mins prior to departure time.

There is street parking around the departure area and paid parking at the Fisherman's Wharf Market.

Port River Dolphin Cruises, Ships Graveyard & Maritime & Cultural History Tours started in August 2022.

Owners Sandy and Tony Coppins, also operate Kangaroo Island Ocean Safari which has recently been inducted into the South Australian Tourism Hall of Fame after winning GOLD 3 years in a row at the SA Tourism Awards. Kangaroo Island Ocean Safari operates a 38 seater, 12 seater and 28 seater vessel from Penneshaw at the eastern end of the island, providing daily coastal safari's and snorkelling with dolphins and seals safaris. We are very excited to now be offering Port River Cruises from Port Adelaide.
