This exclusive experience at Uluru in the Northern Territory allows you to join a traditional Uluru family on their homelands and experience their culture and family history. No trip to Uluru is complete without a tour to connect and really learn about the culture of Uluru and surrounds. Hear from the Traditional Owners themselves on how Paddy Uluru fought for Aboriginal lands rights to where Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is today.

Location

Uluru family homelands, Patji, located just outside of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park south of Uluru, Northern Territory.

What to expect

On this unique and exclusive touring experience you will accompany the Uluru family to their homelands, called Patji, located just outside of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park south of Uluru. Spend time learning about local culture.

Explore this extraordinary environment by 4WD with your Aboriginal guide, stopping along the journey to hear stories such as how Paddy Uluru fought for Aboriginal land rights to were Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is today.

The Uluru family want to share their personal story with you during this authentic cultural experience. Join them under a remote shelter to hear how they survived in this desert environment before tourism started in the region. Continue on to a private sand dune to view the great expanse of the desert overlooking Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

Itinerary

The winter itinerary (April – October) includes:

  • Afternoon tea
  • 1 x bottle water and refill water
  • Non alcoholic sunset drinks and appetisers at sunset viewing

The Summer itinerary (November - March) includes:

  • Morning tea
  • 1 x bottle water and refill water
  • Light lunch.

What is included

This 7 hour experience is offered all year round.

From April – October the tour runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays departing between 1:00pm – 2:00pm.

From November – March the tour runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays departing at 7:00am.

This tour is not suitable for children under 5 years of age.

  • Aboriginal Guide*
  • Entry into Aboriginal Lands

*Please note that Aboriginal guides are traditional people with strong cultural obligations. When cultural events occur an Aboriginal guide may not be available and this is beyond the control of SEIT Outback Australia.

Meeting point

Ayers Rock Resort. Please advise which Ayers Rock Resort accommodation you will be staying at (Sails in the Desert, Desert Gardens Hotel, Emu Walk Apartments, or The Lost Camel Hotel). Your guide will meet you out the front of the reception area.
