Insights into your experience

Your experience starts at 5pm with a bush food inspired cocktail on arrival. Then, drink in hand enjoy an exclusive after hours tour of the art fair, guided by NIAF Curator, Lyndsay Urquhart.

For the first time in NIAF’s history you have the opportunity to be guided through a cultural and artistic immersion discovering First Nations art, creativity and culture from all over Australia. Follow Lyndsay as you learn more about the remarkable artists and art centres that set the stage for NIAF 2022. Then enjoy an exclusive and intimate audience with the artists to discuss their works and creative processes.

After the tour, enjoy a fun and interactive bush food cooking demonstration with Drew Roberts of Shared Knowledge. With Sydney Harbour and the Sydney Opera House as your backdrop, learn how to make Kokoda ceviche and then taste the dish with its unique native Australian flavours. You will also enjoy a discussion of the Mother Tree or coastal wattle, learn about its cultural significance, nutritional benefits and uses in the kitchen. As you watch and learn you will indulge in delicious bush food canapés - sample menu could inclue Bush Onion Arancini Balls, Warrigal Green Spanakoptika or Lemon Myrtle Thai Fish Cakes.
