Shark Bay, Coral Coast, Western Australia
What to expect
Even before Shark Bay became a World Heritage Area, local Nhanda and Malgana Aboriginal people have been looking after this place. Learn about the amazing conservation work being done today to restore the balance of nature as we take you to find any number of native species and discover firsthand why this place is a World Heritage Site. We visit fantastic look outs like Skipjack Point, Point Peron where the Eastern Bay meets the Western Bay plus many other scenic locations which provide breathtaking views across the beautiful bays. Look for turtles, rays, sharks, dugongs, manta rays, birds, and much more. We also look for the amazing thorny devil lizard, the elusive echidna, kangaroos, snakes and other rare and endangered wildlife.
Tours are fully catered, providing delicious and healthy home-style catering on the beach or other spectacular locations across this picturesque National Park, and guests can even enjoy a refreshing snorkel and swim in one the many sheltered bays, if whether permits.
The tour finishes with a relaxing dip in the natural hot tub at the Peron Homestead.

YOUR EXPERIENCE PROVIDER
Wula Gura Nyinda
Yandani Gutharraguda ‘Welcome to Shark Bay’
Wula Gura Nyinda translates to ‘you come this way’, a traditional Aboriginal term for the sharing of stories, both between generations and between cultures. This notion of intercultural sharing extends into every aspect of the tours, which operate under the philosophy of education, understanding and respect.
Discover the secrets of a beautiful land and understand the deep spiritual connection between the Nhanda and Malgana people and this amazing saltwater country.
Long before Europeans landed and settled in the Shark Bay area, the land and waters of Monkey Mia and surrounds provided a strong livelihood for the Nhanda and Malgana people. Hundreds of years later Wula Gura Nyinda Eco Adventures provides the ultimate enriching experience of Aboriginal culture, history and tradition to visitors of Monkey Mia in Shark Bay, Western Australia and is regarded as the 'must do' experience in Gutharraguda (Shark Bay).
Owned and operated by Darren “Capes” Capewell, a descendant of the Nhanda and Malgana people, the tours aim to foster an understanding of the natural land, wildlife, stories and traditions of the region.
Capes leads a range of eco-friendly and non-strenuous tours, each showcasing the very best of Shark Bay’s breathtaking natural environment. From a relaxing tour of Little lagoon on Stand-Up Paddleboards (SUP’s), to 4WD bush tucker tours or exclusive overnight escapes on secluded, pristine beaches. Tours can also be tailored to include a range of experiences for individuals, groups or corporate training programs.
