This two-hour VIP Fashion Showcase Experience is being offered exclusively for small groups, for the first time in CIAF's history, and offers a unique and inspiring immersion into Queensland's Indigenous wearable art and fashion and textiles industry.
The Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) is Australia's premier Indigenous art fair. Key among their annual series of events is the always highly-anticipated CIAF Fashion Performance! This years is titled - We Are Masters of Country.
Inspired by this year’s CIAF theme, Masters of Country, designers showcase their talent by exploring concepts of belonging, of Country, preservation and changes to landscape, as well applying their time-honoured techniques utilising natural fibres, dyes and other elements.

Learn more about the designers, models and creatives that set the stage for CIAF's 2022 Fashion Performance and have the opportunity to meet some of the remarkable creative talent in the First Nations fashion industry.
Your exclusive experience commences with an Acknowledgement of Country followed by canapes and a welcome drink, along with a meet-and-greet by your VIP tour guide who will share the history and evolution of CIAF and its Fashion Showcase ahead of the ticketed performance the following evening.
This 2 hour experience is being offered exclusively for the first time in CIAF's history and offers a unique and inspiring immersion into Queensland's Indigenous fashion, creativity and culture.
Benita Williams is an Indigenous model based in Port Douglas, Queensland. A proud Kuku Yalanji woman, Benita was approached by a model management agency in 2012 while she was shopping for jewellery in a local shopping centre. After overcoming her shyness and nerves, Benita has gone on to appear in a range of amazing fashion events including the Australian Indigenous Fashion Week, the launch of Indigenous fashion label MAINIE, the Miss Universe Australia - QLD State Finals and many CIAF fashion performances. Benita is now a freelance model and loves working with local talent, collaboratively bringing communities together to create and display their art and talents whether it be visual art, dance, fashion and singing. Most of all, Benita has a passion for showcasing Indigenous arts and culture.
This exclusive CIAF VIP Fashion Showcase Experience is available for one night only during the dress rehearsal for the performance.
The experience runs for 2 hours.
Maximum of 20 people per experience.
