Bangarra Dance Theatre is Australia’s premiere First Nations dance company and this July they invite you to experience SandSong: Stories of the Great Sandy Desert at the Sydney Opera House.
SandSong tells the unique story of the Kimberleys and the survival of its People. Under the vast Kimberley sky, the red pindan dust stretches across the desert homelands of the Walmajarri, where the ancient knowledge of People and of Country is preserved through Songlines that have endured for hundreds of generations.

As one of Australia’s leading performing arts companies, Bangarra Dance Theatre share their Culture with Communities and audiences across Australia and the world. Started in 1989, their dance technique is forged from over 65,000 years of culture, embodied with contemporary movement.
Each year in June and July, Bangarra premieres a new work in Australia’s most iconic venue, the Sydney Opera House. Terrain is showing in June and Sandsong is showing in July.
