Enjoy a Bungle Bungle scenic flight and the opportunity to visit the Argyle Diamond Mine (ADM). Kingfisher Tours have been granted special permission to fly into the mine site for 2021 as ADM ceased operation in late 2020 and is currently decommissioning.
Here you will be met by a Traditional Owner from Luridgii Tours for an unforgettable tour through the mine site area and surrounds, as the mine goes into closure. The mine and surrounds is part of the Jaliwang (Barramundi) Dreaming Story, as told by the traditional owners.
The Bungle scenic flight departs at 9:00am and is a 1.5 hour scenic flight to the mine.
You are met by a guide from Luridgii Tours before commencing an unforgettable tour through the mine site area and surrounds as the mine goes into closure. Enjoy a buffet lunch at the miner’s mess.
Your Luridgii guide will drive you back through Gija and Miriuwung Country to Kununurra. Alternatively, you can transfer back to Kununurra via Lake Argyle by boat. If you go by boat, which we recommend as this is one of a kind, you will board your boat at the southern end of Lake Argyle and enjoy an extended sunset cruise encompassing the whole length of the lake and its southern wetlands. A courtesy bus will take you from the Lake Argyle Resort to Kununurra arriving at approximately 7:00pm or book accommodation with us and stay a night or two at Lake Argyle.
Scheduled departures from 1 April 2021 – 30 September 2021 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Tours departs at 9:00am and arrives back in Kununurra by 4:30pm.
Please note: No children under 12 years are permitted on the mine due to Rio Tinto (RTIO) regulations.
